What are we doing to raise money for this School Year?
ALL YEAR LONG
1. Family Contributions When you give your family contribution, we get to keep 97% of the funds given online and 100% of the funds given by check to pass on to your student's programs. Unlike other fundraisers, we have no costs involved, so this is money that goes DIRECTLY to them!! This is the BEST way to give to your students. PTO spends approximately $125 per student each year. You can help offset this cost by making a family contribution and earning contribution bonuses!!
2. Amazon Smile - Visit smile.amazon.com and sign in to your regular amazon account. Choose "Golden View PTO Inc" under other charitable organizations. This costs you NO EXTRA MONEY!
3. Monthly Recycle Rally! Every month is a chance to donate rinsed out and sorted beverage containers that we then turn in for cash to support the student programs!
4. Garden Greetings - Garden Greetings delivers and sets up a personalized greeting the night before your big event. Enjoy your message for the day and they will return approximately 24 hours later for take down and pick-up! Just be sure to list "Golden View Elementary" as the organization you would like to support and a $25 donation will be made to our Golden View PTO!
5. Box Tops Program is now run through a free app. No more clipping!

Where does all the money go?
More than 90% of the funds raised go directly to benefit the students and staff at Golden View! Less than 10% goes to the Operating Costs like supplies and legal items that keep PTO going! Below is a detailed breakdown of where the fundraising money is going...
*Educational Enrichment! About 54% of our budget goes to programs that directly support a well-rounded education for our students. This makes a huge impact on their educational experience here at Golden View! Currently, PTO funds every single field trip our students take! They go to great places like the Santa Ana Zoo, the Long Beach Aquarium and the Heritage House as well as take smaller trips like those to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands and the Shipley Nature Center. Buses are extraordinarily expensive to rent, so we cover the costs! We also give money towards updating the School Library, and contribute in many ways to the Farm!
*Classroom Boosts! Teachers need extra materials throughout the year that aren't covered in the district budgets, so each teacher gets a small budget from PTO to use at their discretion! There are also enhanced learning programs like the AR Program, Kinder Readers, Golden Tickets, Student Testing Support and more! These make up about 25% of our budget!
*Schoolwide Events! Most of our events are self-supporting, but we do use about 9% of our budget to support these so that the events are cost effective for all the families! These include: Skate Nights, Movie Nights, Trunk or Treat, Holiday Shop, Lunch on the Lawn, Fall/Spring Book Fair, Sweetheart Dance, Rubber Ducky Regatta, Cultural Night, Literacy Picnic, and the End-of-the-Year Party!
*Teacher & Staff Appreciation! The staff at Golden View does SO much for our students! That's why we love to celebrate them with things like National Custodian Day, Teacher & Staff Lunches throughout the year, Teacher and Staff Appreciations Weeks and more! With all the amazing donations from parents, we are able to maximize only 2% of the budget to use for these celebrations!
Together, we are creating an incredible educational experience for all of our students and their amazing teachers and staff!
